How to Shelter in Place in a Studio

Hi friends! Absolutely crazy what is happening in the world right now. I know we are all adjusting to life at home and I wanted to share what is working for Jake and I.

We are still living in our studio, which means very close quarters during this shelter in place. I am working remotely during the week and it’s been an interesting balance for Jake and I to figure out. Here’s what helped:

1) Daily cleanup

We tend to be lazy when we are both at home, as in clothes on the floor and dishes piling up. With our sole lives being in our home the next few weeks, we knew we had to change our tune. I personally cannot work in clutter so we made it a rule that for 10 minutes a day we would clean up. It has helped sooo much!

2) Communicate your schedule

I communicate my daily schedule with Jake every morning so he knows when I have a video conference or call. This has helped us figure out a schedule to work together so we’re not on top of each other or in each other’s video.

3) Have fun

It can get overwhelming to be on top of each other every day trying to cook in the same kitchen at the same time; trying to work in the same place, etc. To make sure we’re not absorbed with all of that and everything else going on, we’ve been making sure we’re taking the time each day to have fun. Just because we’re quarantined together every day, doesn’t mean we can’t appreciate that time! Movie nights, cooking together, playing board games, etc., it’s been a blast.

What have you been up to this quarantine?
