What do you think about when you think self care?

For a while, I thought only of face masks, matcha teas, ice rollers, jade rollers and anything else that was trendy on Instagram. At the start of the new year, I set out redefining self care for myself. For me, it was bringing myself back to a place of peace, creativity and openness. That includes Netflix, journaling, reading, writing, dancing, exercise, chai tea lattes and yes, the occasional eye mask. I do have a love for ice rolling and jade rollers. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with using these trendy self care items, as long as they’re not constituting an exclusive list of self care. Self care can be so much more.

In exploring self care and different tools I use for it, I came across Tuuli Accessories. The massage and self care products brand was created out of the founder’s desire to create and build from products we typically waste, such as clothes pins. I was intrigued by the hygge-like products (wooden, smooth, earthy) and decided to test them out.

My favorite product was by far the foot massager. With all my work outs and walking around Chicago, my feet are typically really sore. I came home one day, sat on my couch and started rolling my foot back and forth on the massager and OH MY GOODNESS did it feel good. If you get foot cramps or are single and need some foot rubs, this is for you.

My next favorite was the back massager. I have always loved back massages but unfortunately for me, Jake cannot give me a massage 24/7. This back massager allows you to give your back a little self-care on your own. It’s easy to use and move around.

Finally, I picked up the face roller. It feels so smooth and nice on my face. It’s a nice addition to my ice roller and jade roller, especially for the days when my face is a little sore from smiling so much :)

Tuuli Accessories make me so happy and honestly, that’s the point of self-care. Finding activities and items that just bring you joy outside of the mundane. If you want to test Tuuli out, check them out on Amazon (links in this post!).
